They are used for SEM\/EDS imaging and analysis in geology, mineralogy and petrography. The EM-Tec thin section holders are compatible with petrographic slides sizes of 28x48mm, 27x46mm, 26x46mm and 25x45mm. These holders are intended for SEM\/EDS, SEM\/WDS and even EPMA work. They are compatible with petrographic slides from 45x30mm to 48x28mm.<br \/>\nThe petrographic slides need to be loaded from the side and are pushed against the reference edge with a spring; they are held by spring tension. The opening of the holder is 40mm wide.
